Recently I’ve noticed an increasing number of organisations opting or thinking about opting for Linux eg. schools in Japan. Now today French Parliament Chooses Ubuntu. Will we see more orgs opting to free themselves from ’lock-in’? And will we see bigger orgs doing the same?
Bigger orgs are in more political debt, and choosing something free over something that gives money to their friends at Microsoft could be seen as a risky undertaking.
