I’ve recently purchased ‘Design Patterns in Java’ (ISBN: 0321333020) after hearing about it on Java Posse. I’d had a break from trying to get my head around design patterns. The last time I’d looked at the subject in earnest was about a year ago when I used the book ‘Design Patterns Java Workbook’ (ISBN: 0201743973). I’ve since given this workbook away; I got fed up with fireworks and more importantly I got a bit fed up with some of the patterns having only half coverage. That view may indeed be just my isolated impression. Whether that’s the case or not, what I wanted to rant about here is that the new ‘Design Patterns in Java’ is ostensibly just a revision of the older ‘Workbook’!
